No indication of how much each upgrade costs or what they do, no audio, no a/v feedback for clicks and... admitting to (an at least partial) ban evasion...? I think? What???

Correct me if I'm wrong but... huh??

Would also reccomend typing the text for the buttons. it's pretty rough as is

Glaceon09 responds:

i was trying to do ur problems but i couldn't find a way to maybe i'll work on it later thanks for ur feedback!

Jumping feels bad (too weighty, I'd say), and the visuals are incredibly bland to say the least. I appreciate the fact that all of the terrain is semisolid simply because all of it looks the same and smacking against an unexpected wall or ceiling would suck.

Maybe I'm tripping, but it also feels like the green fireball(?) hitbox is slightly larger than the sprite since I constantly misjudge just how far I need to jump and just barely clip it on the way back down.

The lack of music is also another thing, but please for the love of god don't tell me you intentionally let the game be played in portrait on mobile, it makes for an unfathomably worse experience. (The buttons are also too small + too far into the corners in landscape, imo)

Yippee edit time: Referencing both portrait and landscape screen orientations *should* make it abundantly clear that I was playing this on my phone. The onscreen controls don't even exist playing it in browser, but also the jump is literally fine playing this way. Maybe try looking into that, as holding jump for the same amount of time should yield identical results regardless of input method.

BaconAwakenComix responds:

On computers just ignore the joysticks and play with the arrow keys

Seems like the respawn/retry function is entirely broken, as hitting a spike softlocks

Edit: I did indeed press every one of the Scratch buttons before leaving my review, starting with the flag. Nothing happened lol.

Glad to see a basic game function properly implemented though, but it's still one of the most bland and uninspired endless games I've come across

Cyclone17 responds:

You just had to press the green flag. It’s now in the game though

If it didn’t work after pressing the flag, it might be a problem with the device. I got my friends to play test the game and it worked fine but I will look into that.

I edited the game again so it automatically resets and I tried to fix the soft lock. It should be good now.

I just added another game mechanic. I hope you’re happy it’s less bland now. Also I fixed a bug.

Really fun, but is Puzzle #23 solvable in the GBC version? (unsure if they differ)

The guide seems to tell you to stack two yellow diamonds, and despite the scissors prompting you that you're ready to go (and double checking it myself), the game says that the code cannot be right as it does not use all available symbols, even though I have

mksfbirdup responds:

Can confirm they're all solvable.

Read ahead if you don't mind a spoiler: The bottom chunk goes to the far left side of the board (It's diamond should be red).

Having to move the mouse back and forth to hit enter and then click the textbox again is needlessly tedious as opposed to just hitting enter

Also, pressing quit and starting a new game stacks the music, lol

davidxolukoga responds:

Thank you. It's no longer stacking. Also, you can just hit enter now.

Doesn't seem to actually... work?

The screen is smaller than the game window, and clicking on any of the buttons does nothing

LoopBox responds:

I Will go and fix it ,thanks for pointing it out

Very, VERY early build, as made apparent by the version number being listed as 0.0.1

Placing blocks seems to not work, nor does changing blocks, and breaking blocks is VERY disjointed from where my mouse cursor is. Movement is very weird, seeming to be based on pressing a key to move forward, and holding left or right of that to turn while moving, as pressing anything other than forward snaps the camera to that direction and rotates the controls accordingly??

Big fan of the Rat Rectangle, but that isn't enough to justify uploading something that can barely be considered a functional demo

Edit for 0.0.2: Still not functional enough to be considered a game, adding music you don't own and an overbearing ambience loop does not fix this

voptik123 responds:

Yes its very early build so i working on 0.0.1_01 that will be bug fix, most of things are broken bcs it made in construct 3.

Even without reading the description (something I should admittedly do more often, especially browsing under judgement), the overall quality and simplicity of the graphics made me instinctively wonder if I was being Maze Game'd (I was)

Neat homage I suppose, but plain ol' screamers like this aren't anything special nowadays, especially ones where the bulk of the scare is supposed to come from the sudden loud noise (ow my ears)

SonicadeX03 responds:

Hey, thanks a lot for your detailed feedback! The simplicity of the graphics comes from me trying to capture that classic 2000s Flash style. Plus, I’ll admit, I’m still pretty new to sprite creation—but hey, we all start somewhere, right?

I’ll definitely aim to create more modern and engaging games in the future. Your feedback really helps me see where I can improve, so thanks again for taking the time to share your thoughts!

It's okay to be wrong. Just don't tilt over it, idiot!!
